Sales Manager
Lead, grow, and shape a high-performing sales team at a mission-driven SaaS startup transforming how nonprofits operate.
Boardable is seeking a hands-on, people-first Sales Manager to lead and grow our Sales organization during an exciting stage of transformation and scale. This role is ideal for a leader who excels in developing talent, building sales process discipline, and tightening pipeline execution, while stepping into strategic opportunities when needed to support the team.
As our Sales Manager, you will partner closely with the COO, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product to drive alignment across our Product-Led Growth (PLG) and sales-led motions, helping Boardable achieve (and exceed) its revenue ambitions.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead, Manage, and Develop the Sales Team
- Provide day-to-day leadership for Account Executives and Associate AEs.
- Conduct weekly 1:1s focused on performance, skill development, deal strategy, and accountability.
- Run weekly forecast calls, deal reviews, and pipeline inspections to ensure accuracy and predictability.
- Create, refine, and enforce sales processes that improve efficiency, conversion rates, and rep productivity.
- Establish clear performance expectations, coaching frameworks, and success metrics.
- Build and Scale the Sales Organization
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ramping future sales team members as Boardable grows.
- Shape sales culture grounded in collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity.
- Develop career paths, coaching programs, and ongoing training for rep development.
- Partner with RevOps (Ops) to build dashboards, improve reporting, and refine compensation structures as the team scales
- Provide Strategic Deal Support
- Join key meetings on high-value or complex opportunities to support AEs and improve deal outcomes.
- Model exceptional discovery, value-based selling, and customer engagement techniques.
- Help unblock deals by removing internal or external friction.
- Coach reps through real-time opportunities without directly owning pipeline or quota.
- Own Sales Forecasting, Pipeline Health & Performance Analysis
- Maintain a clean, accurate pipeline with strong data hygiene and documentation.
- Build predictable forecasts and identify risks proactively.
- Analyze team and individual performance to identify trends, gaps, and optimization opportunities.
- Partner with Ops to develop dashboards, reporting, and metrics for visibility across the organization.
- Drive Cross-Functional Alignment
- Collaborate closely with Marketing to ensure alignment between lead generation, qualification, PQL flow, and sales execution.
- Work with Customer Success to improve handoffs, coordinate expansion opportunities, and support retention.
- Partner with Product to provide customer insights that inform roadmap, messaging, and PLG activation strategies.
- Ensure Sales plays a key role in closing the loop across the entire customer journey.
Experience/Education/Skills
5+ years of successful B2B SaaS sales experience with a strong track record of performance; startup experience preferred.
3+ years leading Account Executives or BDRs to exceed goals.
Experience building or scaling a sales team in a growth-stage environment.
Strong understanding of subscription-based SaaS models, value-based selling, and pipeline management.
Experience operating within a Product-Led Growth (PLG) motion preferred.
Demonstrated ability to coach reps, improve sales processes, and shape team culture.
Highly organized, data-driven, and comfortable owning forecasts and metrics.
Exceptional communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
Entrepreneurial approach — able to design and implement new processes with cross-functional alignment.
Nonprofit or board governance experience is a plus.
Location: Indianapolis candidates will be given strong preference
