About the Role
We’re hiring a Business Development Representative to help build and scale our outbound sales motion. In this role, you’ll be responsible for proactive prospecting, booking qualified meetings, and partnering closely with Account Executives to hand off strong-fit nonprofit opportunities. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow in SaaS sales, sharpen outbound prospecting skills, and build a clear path toward a future Account Executive role closing deals in a mission-driven market.
Responsibilities
Proactively generate pipeline through outbound prospecting (email, phone, LinkedIn, sequencing, and light account-based outreach)
Research and identify nonprofit organizations that are strong-fit prospects
Book and run discovery calls and product demos for outbound-generated opportunities
Navigate multi-stakeholder nonprofit buying groups (EDs, admins, board members)
Follow up persistently on active deals and re-engage stalled opportunities
Maintain high daily activity levels to consistently build pipeline
Document activity, pipeline, and key insights in HubSpot
Collaborate with marketing on messaging feedback and outbound targeting strategy
Work cross-functionally with customer success for clean handoffs
Consistently meet or exceed monthly sales and pipeline targets
What Success Looks Like:
Consistently generate qualified outbound pipeline each month
Hit monthly/quarterly quota for closed-won revenue
Maintain strong outbound activity metrics (calls, emails, meetings booked)
Convert outbound meetings into qualified opportunities at a healthy rate
Maintain CRM hygiene with 100% activity logging and forecasting accuracy
Demonstrate consistent improvement in messaging, objection handling, and win rates
Collaborate proactively with teammates and act on coaching feedback
Qualifications
1+ years of experience in sales or a customer-facing SaaS role (SDR, BDR, AE, or similar)
Experience generating pipeline through outbound prospecting preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable initiating cold outreach and handling objections
Highly organized and able to manage multiple deals at once
Gritty follow-up discipline — you don’t give up easily
Empathy for nonprofit professionals and ability to simplify technical value
Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred)
Passion for mission-driven work and helping small teams achieve big things
